Through material play in this collection of structures and doodads, Homer explores the experience of connection. In building these objects, she emphasizes the points of connection between materials, forming a taxonomy of attachment. In this series, materials are posed in play with each other, in systems of clasping, grasping, bearing, and bolstering, demonstrating their varied capacities to carry, and be carried. The components of each object exist in various systems of support: reciprocal, asymmetrical, firm, and unstable.

Elements range from fabrics scraps to cabinet knobs, carabiners to plastic beads, stones to extension cords. These objects are familiar independently, but create a peculiar assemblage in combination, allowing them to operate in a new context, and bringing with them various material strengths and needs. Through these material attachments, Homer invites viewers to consider the ways the built world around us is composed of various interdependent systems of support.
